2014
We plan to do Poonhill + ABC trekking in 8 to 9 days. As our time is really tight and we can’t make it in regular routing, we decided to go with an independent guide with some porters. Raj is one of the guides whom we contact with to do the initial query on itinerary and package. Who is the most efficiency one get back us with the reasonable price and flexible on the itinerary that we planned. Finally, we decided to go with him and he provided all necessary help on getting the permit, domestic airline ticket and local transportation on market price. And we love the porters he hired. They’re very nice and extremely responsible. And they never pushed us, no matter how slow we walked. Each porter tried their best to accompany with one of the members in our group; even we’re in totally different pace. We feel safe and comfortable with Raj’s team. We do have some adjustment on our routing and stop point based on the weather and trail condition due to the avalanche. And finally, we gave up the plan to ABC as too dangerous, but stopped on MBC, which is only 2 hours away from ABC and also worth the trekking. Raining brought us some more difficulty, but also gave us a chance to discover how nice our porter are, they even help us to dry the cloth!
If there is anything else we can suggest to improve Raj’s services, that is how to select the Tea House. Please consider the location with best view, other than closer to the end point of the day or having contract or not. Some of the Tea House which we took didn’t have the best location of the view, which is the most we don’t like in our trip. Everything else are very nice.
If we come back Nepal, I am sure we will contact Raj and having him to be our guide again. And I would recommend him to my friends as well.
Raj, you did a great job and we will miss you and your team.

2013 and 2014
As of now Raj joined us as our guide on three of our four trekkings in Nepal we made so far.He got our first attention by a recommendation on a German website about Nepal.
As we met him in first time Kathmandu, we Immediately liked his cheerful and friendly attitude. And we have not been disappointed.
In October/November 2013 we trekked around Manaslu together with Raj and his friend Dinesh he engaged as porter.During the 4 weeks we spent together in Ghorka/Manaslu, Raj proved to be an excellent guide for the paths, trails and lodges in the area.
He took great care in our well-being.
Raj is very helpful and friendly. Among his compatriots he is popular as well, so it is easy to get in contact with other Nepalis.Because of to his kind and humorous way we had much fun together and quickly developed a friendly relationship. Raj is very sportive, he does not drink alcohol and does not smoke, what we found was very pleasant.
He has a good manner to deal with difficult situations. When the crossing of the highpass Larky-La became problematic due to bad weather, we managed to make it safely by his professional support.
During this situation he always acted level-headed and cautious.Same was experienced by us during our Annapurna Base Camp trekking with him in spring 2014. There was a threatening situation when crossing snowfields eroded by melting water. Raj made a great job in taking us our fear, and helped us to cross the dangerous place safely.
In November 2014, finally, we went trekking with Raj and his friend in the Khumbu region.Safely and without altitude problems we crossed the Cho La, reached Gorak Shep and Kala Pattar.
As always durink trekking with Raj, we decided about the route, walking times and accommodation mostly ourselves. But Raj is also a very good organizer and if preferred he manages all theses things for you. Alongside organizing formalities like TIMS, permits, etc. he also reliably booked our tickets for domestic flights.
We can recommend Raj to 100%. Our next trek with him is already in preparation.
Thanks a lot for everything!
